The first cathedral of Saint-Pierre was destroyed by fire in 1902. It was rebuilt between 1905 and 1907 and is the place of the first church of St. Peter, established in 1690. The interior is typical of Basque churches with galleries above and stained glass have nearly a century with the exception of those located in the transept, they are a gift from General de Gaulle and was unveiled at the passage in 1967. The bell tower of the cathedral was rebuilt in 1975 with stones from Alsace and rhyolite of the "mountain" of Saint-Pierre. Remember, when you visit this cathedral a place of worship.
