Prieuré Saint-Jean-l'Évangéliste

The Benedictine priory was founded in the eleventh century on a small hill overlooking the marshes of the right bank of the Lord by Arnoult Tonnay-Charente, who donated later to the Abbey of Chaise-Dieu.
Historical monument in 1920, the priory was fully restored during the decade 1990-2000. It now houses a contemporary art center, and its buildings are open to visitors. The set has been awarded the "Treasures of Saintonge."
