Pont du Diable
The Devil's Bridge is located in the Ariege between Foix and Tarascon-sur-Ariege. It overlooks the rivers Ariège and connects the town of Montoulieu those of Saint-Paul-de-Jarrat and Mercus-Garrabet.
Its name comes from a legend to facilitate trade, a resident of Ginabat (hamlet Montoulieu) to contract with the Devil. In exchange for a bridge, the Devil take the soul of the first passing through it. But once the bridge built, no one would of course be taken. We had the idea of getting a cat. The Devil was angry deceived and fell into the river.
