The Bordeaux Pessac Zoo opened in 1976.
It occupies a site of 5 hectares and hosts 100,000 visitors a year.
The zoo, taken in March 2004 by holding the Wild Nature, is a member of the National Association of zoos.
It has, on theme parks, apartment 250 animals and 100 species: crowned cranes, flamingos, ostriches, wallabies, young ladies of Numidia, rheas, maki catta, yellow mongoose, tapirs, capybaras, servals, fishing cats, otters of Asia, raccoons, ibis and baboons.
On the theme of the African savanna are presented marabouts, zebras, wildebeest and pelicans.
Of large animals are also present: lynx, tigers and hippos.
