Omaha Beach is one of the five landing beaches of Normandy June 6, 1944 (WWII). The heavy losses that U.S. troops will suffer the big day will be remembered as Bloody Omaha, "Bloody Omaha".
This range extends to the towns of Vierville-sur-Mer, Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer and Colleville-sur-Mer.
The range available for a landing has a length of 8 km. It is lined with rocky cliffs at each end.
