Almost exclusively devoted to painting, the Museum of Fine Arts presents Mulhouse European works painted in the late Middle Ages to the 20th century. It is located in the Villa Steinbach, built by a manufacturer of painted canvas in the 18th century. With works by Bouguereau, Isabey, Jongkind and Géricault, the artists of the 19th century are particularly well represented. Religious paintings of the Middle Ages and the works of Pieter Bruegel the Younger, Teniers, Ruysdael, Boucher and Courbet are also exposed. Finally, one can admire a beautiful series of paintings of Leo Lehmann.
