Located at the foot of the cathedral, the Museum of the Oeuvre Notre Dame offers a walk to the discovery of seven centuries of art in Strasbourg and in the Upper Rhine region. Its rich medieval and Renaissance collections reflect the glorious past of the city, which was the thirteenth to the sixteenth century one of the most important artistic center of the Roman Empire. The masterpieces of sculpture from the Cathedral (Church, Synagogue or the famous Tempter) rub shoulders with the finest examples of the art high-Rhine fifteenth and sixteenth centuries (sculptures of Nicolas Gerhaert Leiden, paintings Conrad Witz and Hans Baldung Grien, stained glass windows of Peter Hemmel Andlau).
