Built in the heart of the city, in the early twentieth century, the building is an integral part of life Toulon. It was the seat of the sub-prefecture and became the Hotel of the Presidency of the General Council of the Var. Since 1999 the building houses the art center of the General Council called Hotel des Arts. He is interested in the period covering the second half of the twentieth century to the present, in the fields of painting, sculpture, photography, video art ... The seven rooms house 600 m2 in four to five exhibitions a year. Each exhibition is the subject of a catalog. In addition to temporary exhibitions, the Hotel des Arts is developing other activities and provides workshops, meetings with artists, exhibitors, tours, exhibitions, conferences and concerts.
