Located between Cordes-sur-Ciel and Gaillac, the Chateau du Cayla is the birthplace of the Romantic poet Maurice de Guerin and her sister Eugenie. This traditional manor Languedoc boasts a green setting of 27 hectares in the heart of the Gaillac vineyards. The building dates back to the oldest part of the fifteenth century. Extensions and alterations to successive eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Upon entry to the museum, visitors are invited to discover the permanent galleries of the writer's house: the kitchen, the bedroom of Mauritius, the alcove of Eugenie, the room of Joseph (the father).
