The castle was built in the southwest of France by Bertrand de Goth from 1305, when he was elected pope under the name of Clement V. Probably born in Villandraut [3], it preserves his life a special affection for his native region. This magnificent castle-palace is intended to serve as his residence during his stay in Guyenne.
