This beautiful building was built in the regular plan 18th century Marshal Contades. By visiting the castle of Montgeoffroy, we imagine perfectly what daily life at that time. The owner of the castle, the Marquis de Contades had several mistresses. The apartments of his dying companion, Madame Herault, as the small secret room at the top of a spiral staircase inhabited the home of Madame Herault, are evidence of the habits and customs of the 18th century.
