Located at the foot of a hill, the land of Chareil was originally one of the strongholds of the house of Bourbon. By right of succession, the castle of Chareil fell in the early 16th century, Claude Morin, Controller ordinary wars, which were carried out for the painted decorations inspired by the antique. In 1954, the state purchased the castle and began restoration work.
The sculptures marked by the second French Renaissance is ordered according to the three registers of Architecture, Ionic, Doric and Corinthian. The inner openings are adorned with frames matched. The murals are a set of exceptional quality for their inspiration, their consistency and elegance of some tables.
