Built in the late 12th and early 13th century, rebuilt after the passage of the troops of Louis XI, the building was modernized in the 17th century. Spent in the family of Lorraine, and in that of Rohan, he was abandoned in the mid 19th century. Restored for 50 years, furnished, open to visitors, it remains one of the few castles of the Doubs.
