Founded in the 11th century, the Abbey now houses Airvault convent buildings in the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions. It captures the feel of the 19th century through the reconstruction of interiors and Poitevin costumes. Agricultural tools and craftsmen presented in a technical life difficult for the rural population. The tour of the chapels, underground chambers and prison complement the discovery of the site.
