The abbey Poitou, a jewel of Romanesque art in Poitou-Charentes, is required by its murals commissioned by the Benedictine monks of this temple of monastic architecture. The church, in 1840 ranked first on the list of historic buildings, continues to be the subject of attention of restaurateurs.
It was then listed as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1983
