Cistercian Abbey at Saint-Nicolas-les-Citeaux in Burgundy, is the source of the Cistercian Order, a Catholic monastic order. Founded by Robert de Molesme in 1098, it was a major spiritual center in Europe until its forced closure of the French Revolution. Reinstated at the end of the nineteenth century by Cistercian monks, Trappist, it has now regained the rank of chief of Trappist-Cistercian Order.
