Woodland retreat with bed and breakfast at la Niche

La Petite Niche is our lovely Garden House nestled in our private woodland on the grounds of our home in Villefranche du Perigord. We are on the hillside overlooking the 13th Century village with its stunning Bourg Tower and 19th Century Notre Dame Church – close enough to hear its hourly chimes (from 0800 to 2100)
Offering self-contained accommodation for 2 people inclusive of continental breakfast at a cost of 60 - 70€ per night. We ask for a minimum of two nights booking for advance bookings, but sometimes it is possible to make last minute bookings for a shorter duration so please do not hesitate to enquire!
The accommodation is 15 square metres (12 square metres for the main living and sleeping space and 3 square metres for the en-suite bathroom). There is also a raised terrace of 6 square metres.
The beds can be made up as 2 x single beds (80x200) or as a large double (160x200) to suit your needs.
You will find everything you need for drinks and snack preparation in the fully equipped kitchenette area (fridge, dishwasher, microwave, kettle).
The bathroom consists of a newly fitted WC, sink and a shower.
We are PET friendly! We welcome well behaved dogs and other furry companions – please contact us in advance to discuss. It is possible to arrange dog sitting for a few hours whilst you swim in the public swimming pool, or even for a day if you want to visit an attraction that does not permit dogs (additional charges apply).
We have plentiful parking on our land – the Garden House is a short 30 m walk from the closest parking but we are available to help assist with luggage if this is needed.
We have private woodland, with a very pretty woodland walk for quick dog walks should you not wish to go out further, or just for a few moments’ peace and quiet

The charming 13th Century bastide town of Villefranche du Perigord is just 500 metres away, although in the summer you might not know it as only the tips of the Bourg tower can be seen through the beautiful tree foliage. In Villefranche du Perigord you will find a number of restaurants and bars, supermarkets, and a pharmacy.
During July and August, the commune swimming pool is open and just a 300-metre stroll down our track.
During July and August, we have a weekly Night Market on Tuesdays under the Halle in Villefranche du Perigord where you can sample many of the regional delicacies. Additionally, more Night Markets can be found at Loubejac (6km), Sauveterre-la Lemance (10km), Moncabrier (13km), Saint Ponpont (20km), Belves (23km), and Cadouin (36km).
We have a number of stunning, circular walks from our door-step – ranging from 3km to 12km and longer. As regular (daily) dog walkers we can advise you on the best places to go if you would like to take advantage.
