Donna and Paul would like to welcome you to Château de Saugé.
Situated in the beautiful rural countryside of the Deux Sevres region.
Château de Saugé was built in 1607 and stands in over 4 acres of beautiful rural gardens with large pond. Due to its elevated position it presides over the surrounding fields and local towns.
The castle itself is flanked by picturesque outbuildings with a beautiful inner courtyard.
Our restoration began as soon as we moved in on the 31 October 2018 and has continued 24/7 since, we have now completed the Daughter’s Wing with a self-contained one bedroom apartment and a serene 2 bedroom luxury Woodland Suite with a double and two single French ancient beds and boasts a decadent en-suite bathroom with double slipper bath.
Our restoration continued with The Victoria Suite a beautiful double aspect room with lavish fittings in golds and reds, opulence at its best. The Napoleon Suite will follow as well as The Stable Gite. Two further suites The Royale and The Highlander will follow later this year.
We opened a Vintage Tearoom in November 2019 serving the most wonderful Traditional Afternoon Teas every Friday, Saturday Sunday and Monday from 10am – 5pm this will be extended during the summer months to take advantage of the wonderful sunshine and views from our Terrace. Seating within the Tearoom up to 40 (including the Breakfast Room) and a further 30 on the Terrace.
Plans are proceeding also with our Barn refurbishment which will become a further Event Venue for weddings, birthdays etc.
We have created a traditional but comfortable lounge for all chambre d’hotes guests and as an Event area it includes a large TV, and WiFi is available throughout the property.
Providing garden views, Chateau de Sauge in Saivres provides accommodation, a restaurant, bikes, a bar, a shared lounge and a garden. Both WiFi and private parking are available at the homestay free of charge/on availability.
