One of them is the Castle Cagninacci San Martino di Lota.
It offers the experience , unique in Corsica, to stay with the descendants of those who built the castle. On the site of a Capuchin convent , the great-grandfather of Bertrand and Florence Cagninacci has built an impressive neo- Tuscan palace . The former convent of the 17th century remain the chapel, now empty, and some monks' cells.
Bertrand and Florence offer 4 guest rooms (all with private bathroom, bedroom also has a splendid private terrace), in their home wonderfully romantic master.
Cagninacci Castle is located in 3 acres of private wooded chestnut , olive , giant magnolias, fragrant orange and lime trees whose fragrance is irresistibly catchy in June . You have breakfast in the shade of plane trees with bread and homemade jam, canistrelli (traditional biscuits) while enjoying the spectacular view of the sea in fine weather, you can see the islands of Elba and Capraia , and very rarely the Italian coast. If time does not permit, you will be served in the spectacular dining room.
In the picturesque village of San Martino di Lota , there are 2 restaurants where you can walk . Opportunities abound for walking as for excursions by car. For swimming , the sea is only 8 km .
San Martino di Lota is at the door of Cap Corse, St Florent , Desert Agriate and beautiful but very misunderstood Castagniccia , "the heart of Corsica ."

Take exit North of Bastia, towards « Macinaggio, Cap Corse ».
At about 1,5 km, right after « MR BRICOLAGE » shop, located on the left, take the middle lane, and make a left towards SAN MARTINO DI LOTA on D131.
After 5 km, there is a cross-road, take on the left the road that goes up.
After 1,5 km, on the left, there are 2 white concrate gates, (Long : 9°25’,92 E,
Lat : 42°44’,27 N) post on which is indicated “CHÂTEAU CAGNINACCI, propriété privée”.
Go down the road.
At about 1,5 km, right after « MR BRICOLAGE » shop, located on the left, take the middle lane, and make a left towards SAN MARTINO DI LOTA on D131.

Un magnifique séjour dans cette belle demeure remplie d'histoire.
Nous avons tout aimé : la grande gentillesse des hôtes, le calme, la vue, le petit-déjeuner fait maison sous les platanes.
Nous ne pouvions pas espérer mieux pour commencer notre séjour dans cette si belle île qu'est la Corse.

Il s'agit d'un vieux bâtiment qui témoigne l'histoire d'une famille dans un coin surélevé et pas loin de la côte (env. 15 minutes). Les frères Florence et Bertrand mènent cet établissement avec passion et dévotion. L'ambiance est celle que rarement on y retrouve lorsque qu'on loue une chambre d'hôtes. C'est un lieu de paix, de vie qui se écoule lentement et loin du tourisme de masse. Les chambres sont de grandes pièces, bien aménagées, avec un soin dans la recherche de détails. Le petit-déjeuner dans le jardin avec vue sur la mer n'est que la petite cerise d'un séjour magnifique qu'on oubliera pas facilement. Le seul regret est de ne pas avoir pu y prolonger notre séjour.

Dans un cadre exceptionnel à l'ombre des arbres centenaires du parc dominant l'île d'Elbe, les hôtes ouvrent leur porte avec délicatesse et simplicité. Beauté, sérénité, authenticité, bastion d'humanité... Au retour la nostalgie... et la vive envie de revenir dès que possible

Site exceptionnel, d'une tranquillité absolue avec cette vue plongeante sur la mer. À 10 minutes de Bastia tout en restant très proche des arbres d'une vraie nature.
